Eclectus and African Grey Shopping List
Cage and Supplies:
- Largest cage you can afford. Width is more important than height. Ideal width is at least 32". Bar spacing ⅝-1”
- Heavy crocks or bowls 4-5” for extra food stations for baby.
- Cement or pumice perch for nail care. Our favorite is the Safety Pumice Perch in size Large.
- Play-stand - we like Prevue 3180 on amazon.com. Eclectus and Greys tend to slip on some tree perches.
- Aviator flight harness size medium.
- Travel cage or carrier. Basic as a medium animal carrier (install a perch with hardware) or elaborate as a Celltei Pak-o-Bird backpack.
- Shower perch.
Toys:

Indian Ringneck Shopping List
Cage and Supplies:
- Largest cage you can afford. Width is more important than height, but remember Ringnecks have very long tails, so height is important to them as well. Ideal width is at least 23". Bar spacing 1/2-5/8" for Indian Ringnecks.
- Cement or pumice perch for nail care. Our favorite is the Safety Pumice Perch in size Small.
- Play-stand or tree perch. Varying sizes of perching surfaces.
- Aviator flight harness in size XS of Flight Suit in size Large for Indian Ringneck.
- Shower perch.
- Travel cage. A small animal carrier with perch installed, Soft Sided Bird Travel Carrier, Celltei Pak-o-Bird (luxury) or Suncast 23 inch Deluxe Pet Carrier. The last option is great, though the front slats will need to be blocked, as they are too wide. Consider placing Creative Foraging Systems Hide & Seek Refillable Canister 4"/6" inside the front door to block slats. Place a perch inside and you have a wonderful travel cage!
Toys:
- Shredder, foraging toys.
- Toys with bells, things that make fun noises.
- Swing. (Polly's Pet Sandy Swing size Small is good!)
- Tikki Hut or other coconut shell toy.
- Snuggle hut okay, but watch for entanglement in fabric or egg laying. Seagrass snuggle hut is highly recommended over other varieties.
- Rope perches or natural branches. Varying sizes, but main perches 1/2-3/4"
Food:
- Roudybush Daily Maintenance pellets in size Mini.
- Drs. Foster and Smith Premium Blends Cockatiel -treat mix.
- Easy Sprouter and Lil Bird Sprout Mix from sproutpeople.com. Highly suggested for health.
- Fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables.
