Species We Breed
Eclectus Parrots
Subspecies of Aru Island (E.r. Aruensis)
These parrots are beautiful and are communal in their wild breeding habits, which makes them less likely to bond to just one person. Sometimes, especially females, may choose a favorite person, but if they are well socialized will go to anyone. Females can be especially cuddly, while males can be more playful. I do not buy into absolutes about either sex. I have wonderful relationships with my females and I think they are equally as rewarding as males. In my opinion, personality plays a much bigger role than sex. Eclectus are a quieter large parrot, compared to other parrots of their size. Both females and males have great speaking abilities. There is a lot of mixing of subspecies, intended and unintended, so a breeder's honesty is important. I strive my best to keep the Eclectus subspecies as pure as possible.
African Grey Parrots
Subspecies of Congo
The most intelligent parrot in the world! African Grey Parrots have stood the test of time and continue to be a favorite among parrot owners. A very quiet, intelligent and sensitive parrot, as well as playful and loving. Highly perceptive, it's like they are reading your mind! They love challenges that stimulate their smart minds. African Grey Parrots have the most speaking ability, however, not all choose to talk. They like to imitate sound effects and can pick up words and phrases very quickly.
